Budget 2023: Civil servants to get RM700 in Hari Raya Aidilfitri aid

PETALING JAYA: Civil servants in Grade 56 and below will receive special financial aid of RM700 for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, in tabling Budget 2023 in Parliament on Friday (Feb 24), said civil servants on contract and government pensioners would also receive special aid for Hari Raya amounting to RM350.

He added that the payments were expected to be disbursed in April.

The Prime Minister also said that a special allowance of RM100 per day would be given to all search and rescue personnel involved in the relief mission to quake-hit Turkiye and Syria.

"This allowance is a sign of the government's appreciation for their contributions in the name of humanity," he said in his speech.

Anwar also said that following the increase in the maximum 'golden handshake' or replacement rest days (GCR) from 160 days to 180 days, the government plans to increase the early redemption of GCR to 50% or 90 days.
