Budget 2023: Gig workers to get allowance for income lost while in training courses


KUALA LUMPUR: The Social Security Organisation (Socso) will provide a monthly allowance of RM300 for three months as compensation for lost income to gig workers who are active and undergoing training programmes.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, in tabling the revised Budget 2023 on Friday (Feb 24), said a total of RM40mil will be allocated for the benefit of 30,000 gig workers.
