Budget 2023: RM725mil to speed up Jendela infrastructure works


KUALA LUMPUR: A total of RM725mil has been allocated to develop infrastructure in 47 industrial areas and nearly 3,700 schools to accelerate the implementation of the Jendela digital infrastructure project, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Prime Minister said Digital Nasional Berhad's (DNB) 5G coverage has reached 50% in populated areas and is targeted to hit 80% by year-end.

The government will ensure that DNB is managed transparently and inclusively to encourage all telcos to participate and offer affordable plans, he said in tabling the revised Budget 2023 here on Friday (Feb 24).

Themed "Membangun Malaysia Madani" (Developing Malaysia Madani), Budget 2023 will in particular focus on addressing the high cost of living, strengthening the social safety net and enhancing the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) ecosystem.
