Cops detain two road bullies in Kulai after attempted attack on bus driver

KULAI: Two men have been arrested by the police for road rage involving a public bus.

Kulai OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow said the suspects are aged 32 and 42 and were travelling in a black BMW in Taman Puteri here when the incident took place at around 8.15am on Friday (Feb 24).

"The car sped past the bus and suddenly entered the bus lane. It then blocked the bus' path and the suspects got down and approached the vehicle.

"The suspects knocked on the side of the bus a few times with their hands while shouting at the 31-year-old bus driver.

"The bus later managed to maneuver past them and continued on its journey to the Kulai bus terminal but the suspects continued to tail the bus until Jalan Batu 21, Kulai Besar.

"The suspects in the car went on to taunt the victim but he did not react to their bullying for fear of his personal safety," he said on Saturday (Feb 25).

He added that the suspects were arrested in the Kulai area on Saturday after the bus driver lodged a police report at 10.11am on Friday.

A 1.19-minute video of the incident also made rounds on social media, said Supt Tok, adding that the suspects are believed to have been drunk.

In the video, the suspects could be heard shouting profanities at the victim as well.

The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
