UK Queen Consort visits Jimmy Choo's fashion school in London

PETALING JAYA: Britain's Queen Consort Camilla, the wife of King Charles III, visited JCA London Fashion Academy, which is co-founded by Malaysian shoe designer Datuk Jimmy Choo, in her first public appearance after being diagnosed with Covid-19 earlier this month.

The Queen Consort, according to British media, was seen on Thursday (Feb 23) together with fashion industry figures, including Choo and co-founder Stephen Smith.

The JCA London Fashion Academy is one of the United Kingdom's latest emerging universities solely dedicated to fashion.

Choo said that the institute was a medium to hone talent in craftsmanship and provide opportunities in various aspects of fashion including clothing.

He added that as a Malaysian, he was very proud to be able to be a part of nurturing young talents with his partner.

"We are indeed proud that the Queen Consort has given us the honour and privilege of visiting our campus," he said in a telephone call from London.

The JCA, first launched in Sept 2021 in London Mayfair, is now at the Boston Manor JCA campus.
