Covid-19 Watch: 173 new cases, says Health Ministry


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 173 new Covid-19 infections on Saturday (Feb 25), says the Health Ministry.

The Health Ministry said through data released on its KKMNow portal on Sunday (Feb 26) that this brings the new total to 5,042,188 cases since the pandemic began.

Of the 173, three were imported cases and the remaining 170 were local.

The ministry also said through its KKMNow portal that there were 219 recoveries on Saturday bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 9,174.

Of the active cases, 96.4% or 8,845 individuals were undergoing home quarantine, while 3.5% of active cases or 317 individuals needed to be hospitalised, with 12 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.

Out of the 12, seven required ventilator support.
