Adam to face new graft charge over Jana Wibawa


PUTRAJAYA: Businessman Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad (pic) will appear in court for the third time to face charges linked to the Jana Wibawa programme.

He will face fresh charges at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court at 9am on Tuesday (Feb 28).

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission said it had received the green light to charge a businessman in relation to the Jana Wibawa programme.

Sources confirmed that the person in question is the 42-year-old Adam Radlan, who is already facing four charges of corruption: two in the Shah Alam Sessions Court and another two in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court.

He was charged on Feb 21 in Kuala Lumpur and in Shah Alam on Feb 22.

Jana Ekonomi Pemerkasaan Kontraktor Bumiputra Berwibawa or Economic Recovery of Authorised Bumiputra Contractors (Jana Wibawa) was set up in November 2020 to empower bumiputra contractors struggling during the pandemic.

Aside from Adam Radlan, Bersatu information chief and Tasek Gelugor MP Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan, and businessman Datuk Teo Wee Cheng had been charged with corruption linked to the same programme.
