The Feb 20 to 26 operation led by the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom), which included officials from enforcement units under the Home Ministry, local authorities and Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd, was carried out as part of ongoing efforts to curb crime.

Esscom commander Deputy Comm Datuk Hamzah Ahmad said during the recent crackdown, a total of 102 people were apprehended for documentation offences while 14 Filipinos aged between 17 and 47 were nabbed for Immigration violations.

He said a total of 11 locations including Bum-Bum island, Pondohan at the Bodgaya area and Bohey Dulang were involved in raids during the operation.

"Throughout this op, a total of 1,555 people, 440 houses and business premises, and 316 vehicles were inspected," he said in a statement on Monday (Feb 27).
