MCA to continue defending moderation, diversity in Msia, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: MCA will continue to defend and protect moderation and diversity in Malaysia, says party president MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

“MCA will continue to ensure freedom, democracy, justice in the country and a Malaysia for all," said Dr Wee in a Facebook post in conjunction with MCA's 74th anniversary on Monday (Feb 27).

"MCA continues to defend and protect moderation and diversity in Malaysian society," he added.

Dr Wee also said that MCA will continue the struggle of its founding fathers to ensure freedom, democracy and justice in the country for everyone.

“Let us continue to remember the contribution of our founding fathers and play our role in defending the interests of all Malaysians,” he said.

MCA was founded by the late Tun Tan Cheng Lock on Feb 27, 1949 to protect the interest of the Chinese community during British colonisation.

In a separate post on Instagram, Dr Wee posted a photo of him and the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) treasurer Koong Lin Loong at Dewan Rakyat.

He said the chamber’s representatives were at Parliament to listen to the debate on the Budget 2023.
