Floods: Johor Military Force, Southern Volunteers to aid victims, says TMJ

JOHOR BARU: The Johor Military Force (JMF) and the Southern Volunteers will provide assistance during the floods in the state, says Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim.

The Johor Crown Prince said he would also be visiting several temporary evacuation centres.

"I have also mobilised the JMF and Southern Volunteers to assist," he said in a statement posted on his Facebook page here on Wednesday (March 1).

Tunku Ismail also thanked all agencies that have been helping locals in flooded areas.

Earlier, Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said all agencies had been mobilised to help flood victims in the state.

In a Facebook post, Onn Hafiz said that he visited a temporary flood relief centre at SK Bukit Mutiara near Bandar Dato Onn, one of the 21 temporary relief centres opened in four badly-hit districts as of 8am Wednesday.

Onn Hafiz also urged the public to always stay vigilant and listen to instructions and advice given by security agencies during such situations.
