PETALING JAYA: The water levels of 14 rivers across Selangor, Johor and Pahang have breached the dangerous mark following continuous rain since Monday (Feb 28) night.
Data from the Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) through its public info banjir portal shows that water levels of Sungai Sompo in Hulu Langat, Selangor recorded a reading of 32.29m whereas Sungai Pukin in Rompin, Pahang recorded a reading of 46.59m.
In Johor, 12 rivers breached dangerous levels.

They are Sungai Segamat (38.32m), Sungai Labis (41.27m) and Sungai Lenik (7.67m) in Segamat; Sungai Kahang in Kluang (16.71m); Sungai Siam (21.53m), Sungai Siku (18.77m), Sungai Skudai (19.06m) and Sungai Ulu Pontian Besar (12.69m) in Kulai; Sungai Pulai (2.92m) in Pontian; Sungai Johor in Kota Tinggi (2.86m); as well as Parit Keliling (1.03m) and Sungai Skudai in Johor Bahru (5.79m).
On Feb 26, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued a warning of continuous rain in most parts of Peninsular Malaysia, as well as certain areas in Sabah and Sarawak.

It said the forecast of continuous rain is for Perak, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor from Tuesday to Wednesday.
