PJD Link concessionaire in the midst of fulfilling set conditions, says Works Ministry

KUALA LUMPUR: The Petaling Jaya Dispersal Elevated Highway (PJD Link) concessionaire has yet to fulfil all conditions specified in the concession agreement, says Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.

In a parliamentary written reply, the Works Minister said that the PJD Link project is a necessary national infrastructure based on the Highway Network Development Plan, which is the reference for road network and highway planning in the country.

"The concessionaire is actively carrying out the environmental impact assessment (EIA), traffic impact assessment (TIA) and social impact assessment (SIA) without any physical activity at the site," Nanta said in a written reply to Lee Chean Chung (PH-Petaling Jaya).

On the full details of the concession agreement, Nanti Linggi said these were listed as "classified", under the Official Secrets Act.

"It has to be declassified first. The government is also subject to a confidentiality agreement and both parties need to reach an agreement before its contents can be made public," he added.

Nanta Linggi said the PJD Link project was aimed at dispersing traffic from Bandar Utama to Kinrara through the Petaling Jaya area.

He added that it could also provide an alternative route for traffic along the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP), which had already "exceeded its capacity".
