Dr Wee: I will not bow to pressure, as second legal letter on egg issue comes

KUALA LUMPUR: Ayer Hitam MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong says that he will not bow to pressure and will continue to speak out for the rakyat in Parliament.

This comes after the MCA president received his second legal notice from a company for raising the issue of imported eggs recently.

“I am totally unfazed by this and I stand by my words in Parliament. I’ll leave it to my lawyers to take action. Nothing will stop me from voicing out in the interests of the Malaysian public,” said Dr Wee in a Facebook post on Thursday (March 2).

Last Wednesday (Feb 22), Dr Wee, when debating the motion of thanks on the Royal Address, warned that the government could face a barrage of criticisms if the chicken egg shortage was not resolved as Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri approaches.

Dr Wee also brought out three different eggs, one from India, a locally-produced regular egg and an Omega 3-enriched egg to show their size difference and cost.
