Emergency meeting called due to Johor floods, says MB

JOHOR BARU: An emergency meeting involving all agencies was called on Wednesday (March 1) night due to the flooding in the state, says Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi (pic).

“In the meeting, we were briefed about the situation in Segamat, particularly in Chaah, Pemanis, Tenang and Labis, and I have asked the agencies involved to manage the logistics for the delivery of tents and retort food," he said.

“I understand the constraints that all the agencies involved are facing, but I am confident that they can be overcome if properly coordinated,” added Onn Hafiz in a Facebook post on Thursday (March 2).

Onn Hafiz also said he understands the fatigue experienced by members and personnel of various agencies involved in the latest flood incident.

“But I am appealing to them to strengthen their spirit and continue to serve the flood victims diligently,” he added.
