KUALA KANGSAR: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali yesterday received his Dato’ Seri Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (SPCM) award, which carries the title Datuk Seri, that was announced last November in conjunction with Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah’s 66th birthday.
Mohd Zuki headed the list of 22 people who received their awards and medals yesterday, from among the 212 recipients of state awards and medals announced on Nov 3 last year.
Mohd Zuki, 60, was appointed the 15th Chief Secretary to the Government on Jan 1, 2020.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain received the Dato’ Seri Panglima Taming Sari (SPTS) award, which carries the title Datuk Seri Panglima, while International Trade and Industry secretary-general Datuk Seri Isham Ishak received the Dato’ Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (DPCM) award, which carries the title Datuk.
In addition, 14 individuals were conferred the Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP) award, which carries the title Datuk.
They were Perak Chief Syariah Judge Abdul Rahman Thobroni Mohd Mansor, Malaysian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Datuk Zakri Jaafar, Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Ministry secretary-general Datuk Rosli Isa, Treasury deputy secretary-general Anis Rizana Mohd Zainudin, and National Archives director-general Datuk Jaafar Sidek Abdul Rahman.
Other recipients were Perak Development Office director Shamshuzaman Sulaiman, Public Works Department senior director of Integrated Asset Management Branch Zulkipli Nasri, Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun infectious disease physician Dr Ker Hong Bee and National Heart Institute cardiothoracic surgery department chief Dr Alwi Mohamed Yunus.
Karangkraf Media Group Sdn Bhd chairman Datuk Dr Hussamudin Yaacub, Sunway Education Group chief executive officer Prof Dr Lee Fuh Yen, and Selangor and Federal Territory Eurasian Association president Sheila Eleanor De Costa were also conferred the DPMP award.
The posthumous award to former Suhakam commissioner the late Datin Paduka Prof Dr Mehrun Siraj was received by her husband Datuk Sulaiman Abdullah.
At the ceremony yesterday, five individuals received their Dato’ Pahlawan Taming Sari (DPTS) award, which carries the title Datuk Pahlawan, namely Malaysian Armed Forces Western Fleet Engineers commander Mejar-Jen Abdul Hamid Mohd Isa, Malaysian Armed Forces defence adviser Brig-Jen Safwan @ Asri Ismail and Brig-Jen Mohd Ghazalli Mohd Taha from the Army Headquarters’ Royal Medical and Dental Corps.
Malaysian Armed Forces inspector-general Rear Admiral Abd Halim Shaari and Perak Police Special Branch head Senior Asst Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar were also conferred the DPTS award.
