Covid-19 Watch: 226 new cases, says Health Ministry


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 226 new Covid-19 infections on Tuesday (March 7), says the Health Ministry.

The Health Ministry said through data released on its KKMNow portal on Wednesday (March 8) that this brings the new total to 5,044,204 cases since the pandemic began.

Of the 226, three are imported cases and the remaining 203 are local.

The ministry also said through its KKMNow portal that there were 202 recoveries on Tuesday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 9,235.

Of the active cases, 96.5% or 8,913 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 3.4% of active cases or 318 individuals need to be hospitalised, with four warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.

None of the four require ventilator support.
