Felcra senior exec fined RM10K for misleading Land Office

IPOH: A Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (Felcra) senior executive assistant officer has been fined RM10,000 for fraudulently misleading the Perak Tengah Land Office over a land application.

Ipoh Sessions Court judge Ahmad Kamar Jamaludin handed down the sentence after Rosnani Hashim, 55, pleaded guilty to an alternate charge here on Thursday (March 9).

According to the charge sheet, Rosnani had on Sept 2, 2021 knowingly misled the Land Office by fraudulently inducing the district land selection committee that one Azizah Ishak, 42, had made a land application for agricultural land in RPS Suak Sodang, Bota on April 24 that year.

She was also charged with offering a bribe of RM2,000 to Azizah to change the name on the land grant at the Perak Tengah Land Office parking lot on the same day.

In sentencing, judge Ahmad Kamar ordered Rosnani to pay a fine of RM10,000 in default one month's jail.

A bribe of RM6,000 in cash was also forfeited under Section 40(1)(a) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009 to the government.

MACC's deputy public prosecutor Maziyah Mansor prosecuted, while Rosnani was not represented.
