Muhyiddin arrives at PAS centre in Gombak

GOMBAK: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin arrived at the PAS centre in Taman Melewar here at 9.30pm on Thursday (March 9) after more than seven hours of questioning at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya.

Accompanied by a police escort, the Perikatan Nasional chairman arrived in a black MPV and was greeted by several senior Perikatan Nasional leaders.

Among the Perikatan leaders sighted here are Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, Putrajaya MP Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin, Pahang Bersatu chief and Indera Mahkota MP Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah and Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal.

Also present are PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, vice-president Datuk Idris Ahmad and Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim.

The prayer session titled "Solat hajat for security of the country and solidarity against cruelty" will feature speeches by the leaders of Perikatan Nasional, including the senior leadership of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and PAS.

It was organised following the announcement that former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also Bersatu president, would be summoned to the MACC on Thursday.

Muhyddin was then arrested but later released on MACC bail.

He will be facing a number of charges at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex on Friday (March 10).
