A SKIING trip nearly destroyed singer Selina Jen’s relationship with her boyfriend, who tried to teach her how to snowboard, China Press reported.
What was supposed to be a happy three-day holiday ended up with her being in tears most of the time, said Jen, 41.
“It was only afterwards that I learnt that couples should not attempt to teach each other how to snowboard. At the very least, it will lead to arguments; at worst, it will result in a break up,” said the Taiwanese during her own Pinky Ren podcast.
Jen revealed that her boyfriend, who was seven years her junior, had offered to coach her how to snowboard.
However, Jen ended up crying after falling and being unable to get up on her own despite trying multiple times.
“I don’t want to learn how to stand up. Since you are next to me, why don’t you just help me up?” Jen had told her boyfriend.
Jen gave up on taking lessons from her boyfriend. She is now looking for a professional snowboarding coach.
Jen was once married to a lawyer for five years, but they divorced in 2016.
Reports emerged last year that she had started dating again after she was photographed with an unidentified man in China.
The man had apparently received the approval of Jen’s father despite their age gap.
Jen rose to prominence in 2001 with the all-girl band S.H.E., which also comprised Ella Chen and Hebe Tien.
> A 51-year-old man has been accused of killing his neighbour’s rabbit after the animal had apparently defecated all over his place, China Press reported.
The owner of the rabbit discovered that his pet was not moving during feeding time at 7am on March 4.
Initially, he thought that the rabbit had died of natural causes.
However, he reviewed his CCTV footage later and discovered that it was killed by a man believed to be his neighbour.
It showed the man taking the rabbit out of the cage before slamming the animal on the ground twice.
Then he tossed the rabbit back into its cage.
After receiving a report, police arrested the neighbour to assist in investigations.
He was charged at the Seremban Magistrate’s Court on March 6 under Section 29 of the Animal Welfare Act for animal cruelty and Section 448 of the Penal Code for trespassing.
He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail at RM10,000.
