KUALA LUMPUR: Most of the 74 Perikatan Nasional MPs are absent in the Parliament sitting on Thursday (March 9).

According to Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, many of the MPs will be gathering at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya.

The MPs will be there to show solidarity for Perikatan chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who was summoned to the MACC headquarters at 11am today.

It is understood that all PAS and Bersatu MPs were told to show support to Muhyiddin on Thursday (March 9).

However, it is believed that the directive was not heeded by all Perikatan MPs.

PAS has 43 MPs while Bersatu has 31 MPs.

Sources have told The Star that a senior leader in Perikatan is likely to be arrested and charged by the MACC soon over alleged corruption charges concerning party funds.

MACC is currently investigating allegations that chosen contractors allegedly deposited RM300mil into the Bersatu party account as funds before the last general election.

Muhyiddin had since denied this, describing it as a political slander intending to smear his reputation as a former prime minister.

Recently, former Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan and Segambut division deputy chief Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad were charged in court.

They were alleged to have collected funds from the award of projects during the tenure of Muhyiddin as the eighth prime minister.

On March 2, Bersatu treasurer Datuk Seri Mohd Salleh Bajuri was remanded on the request of the MACC for two days and released on March 3
