IPOH: Accusations of politically-motivated actions made by certain quarters is not a bother, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Anwar said that his only focus was to bring development, change and take care of the interests of the people and added that he is cleaning the country of corruption and “robbers”.

He added that he was aware of what was being said by others.

“I am not bothered about what is said out there. I want Malaysia, a Muslim-majority country, to also take care of the interests of all races as well,” he said.

“I cannot any longer allow the funds of the country to be taken illegally by a few to become richer, for them to feel free, and to be able to take what belongs to the people,” added Anwar.

Speaking before launching the National Landscape 2023 Day at the D.R. Seenivasagam Park here on Saturday (March 11), Anwar said that he is serious about change.

“But my mission will only be accomplished if the government machinery, and people from all levels are with me on this,” said Anwar.

He also said that his Cabinet ministers and heads of government agencies know that he is serious about change and development, and added that balanced development is very important.

Citing an analogy, Anwar said that it would be pointless if the infrastructure of small businesses looked like it was from the 1950s if there are skyscrapers everywhere.

“All local governments must take note that all development should not side a certain class because, under the Madani government, we want the interests of people from all races to be taken care of,” said Anwar.

“What is the point of having the tallest building, the longest bridge or the biggest mall when people are still suffering,” he said.
