No to Muhyiddin stepping down, Bersatu unanimously decided, says Wan Saiful

CHERAS: The leadership of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) is unanimous that Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin remains as the party president, says former Bersatu information chief Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan.

The Tasek Gelugor MP also stated that the Bersatu leaders would not accept Muhyiddin stepping down from his post as the party president and Perikatan Nasional chairman just because he was slapped with the alleged corruption charges on March 10.

"We are all agreed that Muhyiddin does not step down just because he was charged. We want him to remain as president.

"We will bring this view to the Bersatu supreme council and Perikatan Nasional top leadership meetings," said Wan Saiful.

He said this to the media on the sidelines after accompanying Muhyiddin on a surprise visit to attend the Bersatu youth Armada gathering at Menara PGRM here on Saturday (March 11).

Bersatu is holding its delayed 2022 annual general assembly from March 10 to March 12.
