JOHOR BARU: Flood victims may lodge a police report online to make their insurance claiming process smoother, says Johor police chief Comm Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat.
He said the police’s e-Reporting website allows the public to lodge a police report without having to visit a police station physically.
“Flood victims just have to key in their information accordingly, including their estimated losses, and the system will generate a report number,” he said.
Comm Kamarul Zaman added that they can then print the police report and attach it with their claims documents.
Speaking at a press conference at the Marine Police headquarters in Tampoi here on Wednesday (March 15), he said that flood victims could also seek help from police personnel and officers who have been stationed at the temporary flood relief centres statewide
The eReporting system, launched in 2017, is only open for Malaysians aged 18 and above and can be accessed at https://ereporting.rmp.gov.my.
The public can also use the Online Checking System to track the progress of their lodged police reports at http://sso.rmp.gov.my.
