Perak PKR Youth lodges report against Ahmad Faizal for alleged defamation against PM

IPOH: The Perak PKR Youth wing has lodged a police report against Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu for alleged defamatory remarks against the Prime Minister.

Its chief Za’im Sidqi Zulkifly said the Bersatu deputy president had accused, insulted, and made slanderous remarks regarding Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He said Ahmad Faizal, who is both a former Perak mentri besar and a former Tambun MP, made the remarks during Bersatu’s annual general assembly on Sunday (March 12).

“We want the police to investigate this statement, which is aimed at undermining the credibility of the Prime Minister, as well as creating chaos.

“I hope this police report will enable investigation papers to be opened.

“Ahmad Faizal must accept that he has lost the Tambun seat, and that we must focus on rebuilding the country under Anwar’s leadership,” he told reporters after lodging a report at the Ipoh district police headquarters here on Wednesday (March 15).

Za’im also showed reporters a 34-second video of someone resembling Ahmad Faizal making remarks about Anwar during the assembly.

In the video, the person states that he was ashamed because a leader who won the Tambun seat, supposedly clean, pious, great and kind, has been playing politics incessantly after getting into power.
