Probe ongoing on Najib, Rosmah’s leaked judgment

THE police probe into the leaked judgments of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor is still ongoing, the Dewan Rakyat was told.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said police had submitted the investigation papers to the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) on Sept 22 last year.

“The AGC has ordered phone data and laptops obtained by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to be submitted to Cybersecurity Malaysia (CSM) for a second opinion,” she said in a written reply dated March 13.

The items were submitted to CSM on Feb 5, she said in response to Pang Hok Liong (PH-Labis), who had asked what immediate steps were being taken over attempts to undermine the judiciary.

The minister said the Chief Registrar’s office had lodged a police report over the alleged leak of the written judgement on Aug 23 last year.

The alleged leaked judgments of Najib and Rosmah’s case were initially posted by rogue blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin on the portal Malaysia Today.

Last September, Rosmah was found guilty by the Kuala Lumpur High Court on all three counts of corruption over a solar energy project and was sentenced to 10 years’ jail and fined RM970mil.

Najib is currently serving a 12-year jail sentence after the Federal Court upheld his conviction and sentence in the SRC International case in August last year.
