Johor floods: 263 victims remain at four relief centres


JOHOR BARU: A total of 263 people from 64 families are being placed at four temporary relief centres (PPS) in Batu Pahat.

The State Disaster Management Committee said the PPS is located in Parit Sulong, Ayer Hitam, Sri Gading, and Batu Pahat.

“As of 8am, there are 263 evacuees still seeking shelter at four PPS.

“The PPS with the highest number of victims is at SK Seri Medan with 130 people, Dewan Orang Ramai Yong Peng (79), SA Seri Comel (35) and SJKC Hua Min (19),” it said in a statement here on Saturday (March 25).

A water level monitoring station has also recorded a warning river level in Sungai Bekok at 18.96m.
