SINGER and actress Elizabeth Tan is planning to have a child this year as she believes she is getting older, reported Harian Metro.
Tan, 30, said she does not want to wait any longer and it is time for her and her husband, Dr Siew Jim, whom she married two years ago, to have a child.
“This year, my husband and I are trying to have a baby. I cannot wait. I can’t wait to be a mother. We have been married for two years.
“When I get pregnant and we have a child, we can live together because my husband has to help me take care of the child too but, for now, we still live separately,” she said.
She said her husband will usually return to her house four to five days a week.
> After receiving a new asnaf house from the Pahang Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MUIP) on Monday, 70-year-old traditional massage therapist A Rahim A Jalil will be celebrating a more meaningful Aidilfitri in a house he can call his own, reported Harian Metro.
The daily reported that A Rahim, who has been living in an inheritance house with a family of eight in Kampung Jalan Rompin Lama, Pekan, Pahang has been waiting for a new house for more than nine years.
A Rahim said he is very grateful that his dream of owning a house finally came true this Ramadan and considered it the most meaningful Aidilfitri gift for his family.
“As the head of the family, I was very pleased when my application for the asnaf house was approved by MUIP in October, after which the process of building the house started in September and took about a month to complete.
“My family will move to the new house in stages in time for Aidilfitri and it will certainly be a happy occasion for our family,” he said, noting that the new house is located only 30m from his old house.
