Firemen rescue family of three after car plunges into reservoir in Kepong

KUALA LUMPUR: Firefighters rushed to save a family of three after a car that they were in fell into a reservoir.

The accident along Bulatan Mergastua in Taman Pusat Kepong occurred earlier on Tuesday (April 4), with the city Fire and Rescue Department receiving the call for help at 12.40pm.

The driver had lost control of the car, plunging it into the reservoir.

At the scene, rescuers found a nearly submerged car and the victims, three foreigners, clinging onto the vehicle to stay afloat.

"The two adults were uninjured but the third, a three-year-old child, suffered light injuries.

"They were all rescued at 1pm and the injured child has been sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for treatment," the department said in a statement on Tuesday.
