PETALING JAYA: The government will announce special flight ticket prices for students at institutes of higher learning soon, says Transport Minister Anthony Loke.

He said this involved students from Sabah and Sarawak furthering their studies in the peninsula and vice versa.

Loke said despite increasing the number of flights and larger aircraft capacity, demand still could not be met.

He said for the Hari Raya Aidilfitr period, only high-priced business class tickets were available.

"We will have a plan for students (to purchase tickets) with government subsidy," he told a media conference after breaking fast with Prasarana Malaysia Berhad employees here on Wednesday (April 12). – Bernama
