Passenger killed, motorist critical after multi-vehicle crash in Puncak Alam

PUNCAK ALAM: Fire and Rescue personnel rushed to the scene of an accident here to free a motorist who was trapped in his car after a multi-vehicle collision that resulted in one death.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Morni Mamat said the incident occurred at 10.08am on Wednesday (April 12) along Jalan Puncak Alam.

"We dispatched one fire engine and a team of six to the scene. They arrived at around 10.20am.

"Our team found that four vehicles had been involved in an accident – a pickup truck, a three-tonne lorry and two cars," he said.

He added that the accident is believed to have occurred after the pickup truck hit the back of the lorry.

"The truck then hit two cars travelling in the opposite direction. The driver of one car was pinned in the vehicle while a 67-year-old passenger succumbed to her injuries at the scene," he said.

Morni said the driver was extricated from the vehicle and rushed to hospital, where he was reported to be in critical condition.
