Yayasan Melaka CEO appointed National Cancer Society of Malaysia state chapter advisor

MELAKA: Yayasan Melaka chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Ridhwan Mohd Ali has been appointed as the honorary advisor for the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NSCM) Melaka chapter.

NSCM managing director Dr M Murallitharan said the appointment of Mohd Ridhwan is to help spread awareness and assist cancer patients in the state.

“I am honoured that the CEO of Yayasan Melaka is part of our team that will surely create impact in our efforts on cancer prevention and care spectrum,” he said after handing over the appointment letter to Mohd Ridhwan at Yayasan Melaka office in Jalan Hang Tuah here on Thursday (April 13).

Dr Murallitharan said many people are aware of reducing the risk of developing the disease and the appointment of local influential figures can help encourage early screenings as well as organising anti-cancer campaigns.

He said cancer awareness campaigns can encourage its prevention, detection and treatment by building stronger alliances with the locals.

“Strengthening prevention and early detection can be achieved through more combined effort and localised approach,” he said.

Dr Murallitharan said NCSM will expand its activities and services to all segments of the community in its mission to prevent cancer.

“We will continue to work with our strategic partners to educate, support and empower the locals to combat cancer,” he added.
