KUALA LUMPUR: Assistance worth RM174,000 was handed over to 11 recipients of the Social Security Organisations (Socso) schemes.
The recipients are beneficiaries under the Employment Insurance System (SIP), Personal Social Employment Security Scheme (SKSPS) and Housewife Social Security Scheme (SKSSR).
Deputy Human Resources Minister Mustapha Sakmud, who graced the Socso Iftar Ceremony, also delivered Hari Raya Aidilfitri assistance to 100 orphans and 40 single mothers.
“Aside from being able to get closer to the community, especially the vulnerable group, the Iftar ceremony today would help them to alleviate their burdens ahead of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations soon,” he said in his speech yesterday.
“The contributions include hampers, cash and clothes for Hari Raya,” said Socso Board chairman Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal.The ceremony also saw the launch of Insentif Kerjaya Madani 2023 to mark the implementation of 10 initiatives that will promote employment of target groups under the recent Budget 2023.
Among the programmes under the initiative were Daya Kerjaya, Daya Kerjaya TVET and Bina Kerjaya.
“The Daya Kerjaya Programme – employers who hire youths that have been unemployed for long periods, as well as Orang Asli, women, disabled people, hardcore poor, parolees, former inmates and TVET graduates.
“For three months, employers who hired from these groups from Jan 1 would receive RM600 per month,” Mustapha said.
Meanwhile, Bina Kerjaya focuses on empowering the labour market to increase the potential of employees working under the informal sectors to be employed.
Socso, through the Human Resources Ministry, would receive a total of RM313mil allocated under Budget 2023.
