PETALING JAYA: PETRONAS' sole employee, other Malaysians as well as residents in the PETRONAS Sudan Complex in Khartoum are all safe and accounted for, confirmed the company.
"Other PETRONAS Group employees are also safe in their respective homes or outside of the country," it said in a brief statement on Sunday (April 16).
The Foreign Ministry announced that it was closely monitoring the situation in Khartoum, Sudan, following clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Saturday - which had led to political and security unrest in the country.
Numerous airlines have suspended flights to Khartoum and neighbouring Chad has closed its border with Sudan.
