Food truck operator in Port Dickson charged with murder


PORT DICKSON: A 40-year-old food truck operator was charged at the Magistrate's Court here with the murder of a 38-year-old man.

No plea was recorded from Sin Poo Kiong after the charge was read to him before magistrate V. Vanita.

The accused was charged with causing the death of Cheok Teck Meng between 7.30pm and 7.55pm on March 1 this year.

The offence was allegedly committed in front of a food court in Lukut.

Sin was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Vanita then fixed May 19 for next mention and ordered the accused to be remanded at the Temiang prison.

Jiwan Kaur Malkith Singh prosecuted while V.Segaran appeared for the accused.

On March 1, police personnel received a call at around 7.35pm stating that a man had been stabbed outside the food court.

Policemen sent to the scene found the victim in the parking area, unconscious and bleeding badly.

A medical team from the Lukut health clinic arrived shortly after and declared the victim dead.
