Melaka social activist to hand out goodies to frontliners on first day of Hari Raya

MELAKA: Social activist Datuk Chew Chert Fong went shopping for delicacies to treat frontliners who have to work on the first day of Hari Raya.

Chew, who is a member of a crime prevention organisation, said he wanted to show his appreciation to those who were sacrificing their holidays to safeguard the public.

"I will pass these gift bags to the frontliners that I come across along the North South Expressway on the way to Shah Alam on the first day of Hari Raya.

"I want to thank them for taking care of our safety," he said after collecting the gift bags at a shopping complex at Ayer Keroh here on Thursday (April 20). Chew added that he would be handing out the gift bags to frontliners on the second day of Hari Raya as well.

Meanwhile, Melaka top cop Deputy Comm Datuk Zainol Samah will also host a Hari Raya buffet at the state’s police headquarters at Bukit Beruang here for all his men who are working on the first day.
