PM to have Malaysia Madani open house in three states

KUALA LUMPUR: A “Malaysia Madani Open House” with the Prime Minister in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri will be held in three states, namely Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.

The Prime Minister’s Department said Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim would not be holding an open house at his official residence at Kompleks Seri Perdana in Putrajaya this year.

It said the Malaysia Madani open house, organised by the PM’s Department with the Performance Acceleration and Coordination Unit as the main coordinator, will be held in Kedah on April 29, Kelantan on May 12 and Terengganu on May 13.

“The programme will be implemented with the cooperation of the respective state governments as host and the assistance of a ministry appointed as the lead ministry.

“The Prime Minister will be attending the programme as the main guest to join people from all walks of life at the event. Mentris Besar or Chief Ministers will also be invited, apart from federal ministers,” it said in a statement yesterday, Bernama reported.

It said the programme in Kedah has been accorded national status with a targeted attendance of 25,000 people while the other two states are expected to attract 15,000 visitors each.

The programme in Kedah will be held at Hotel Raia, Alor Setar from 10am to 2pm, with the Home Ministry as the lead ministry.

“In Kelantan, the programme will be held at the Stadium Sultan Muhammad IV compound from 7pm to 10.30pm, with the Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Ministry as the lead ministry.

“In Terengganu, it will be staged at Dewan Al-Muktafi Billah Shah, Unisza from 7pm to 10.30pm, with the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry as the lead ministry,” the PM’s Department said.

It also announced that the Prime Minister would attend three open houses organised by the state governments of Selangor, Penang and Negri Sembilan in conjunction with Hari Raya.
