PETALING JAYA: In conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri on Saturday (April 22), the King has called on Malaysians from all walks of life to unite and ensure harmony and peace in the nation.
Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah said unity is important to ensure a prosperous future for the nation.
“Let’s show commitment to remain united and ensure peace and harmony in this beloved country.
“Lets uphold loyalty to the King and country as a catalyst of unity that will create a glorious future for the country,” said the King in his Hari Raya Royal Address.
The King also said this year, Malaysians from all walks of life can celebrate Hari Raya without any forms of restrictions in a peaceful country, which is different compared to Muslims in Palestine that was recently attacked by Israeli forces.
“Without any sense of guilt, the Zionist regime carried out a despicable attack on the Al-Aqsa Mosque where Palestinian Muslims were praying during Ramadan.
“It seems like an annual tradition during the final days of Ramadan and ahead of Syawal, where the Zionist regime will conduct extreme provocation of Palestinian Muslims,” said the King.
The Yang di-Pertuan Agong said Malaysians and the world had strongly condemned the attacks against Palestinians and the raid on the Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli regime.
At the same time, the King said there were many lessons that can be learnt from the ongoing Palestinian conflict.
“In Malaysia, every race and religion are free to exercise their respective traditional celebrations with harmony.
“Malaysians can also go about their daily lives with full tolerance and without any differences between race and religion,” said the King.
Meanwhile, the King also extended prayers from himself and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aiminah Mainunah Iskandariah on the ongoing conflict in Sudan.
“May the conflicts in Sudan and Palestine find a peaceful conclusion,” said the King.
The King also said that he and the Raja Permaisuri Agong were appreciative of those who had to work during the festive season, especially medical officers, soldiers, the police and all members of government agencies.
The King also urged Malaysians who are travelling back to their hometown to abide by the law and prioritise safety.
“May you safely arrive at your destination and celebrate Hari Raya with your beloved family,” the King added.
