Mercy flights: Bomba airlifts three Orang Asli women to hospital

GUA MUSANG: The Air Unit of the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) conducted two medical evacuation (medevac) flights on Sunday (April 23) for three Orang Asli women from Pos Balar and Pos Simpor to receive treatment at Hospital Gua Musang.

According to Bomba northern region airbase (Penang) public relations officer asst fire superintendent Muhammad Akmaluddin Said, the two patients from Pos Balar were pregnant, and had been unwell for several days.

"The two patients from Pos Balar are Rena Amat, 28, who was suffering from abdominal and back pains for two days; and Maria Aluj, 24, who had been unable to eat for five days due to a swelling on her chin.

"The other patient, Jalisah Beloy, 45, Kampung Sedal, Pos Simpor, had been suffering from measles for five days. She was in a weak state and had to be stretchered onboard the Agusta Westland 139 (AW139) aircraft," he said in a statement on Monday (April 24). – Bernama
