Three nabbed in Ampang over assault of bank clerk

KUALA LUMPUR: Two women and a man have been arrested in connection with the assault of a bank clerk.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the incident occurred at around 3.30pm on Friday (April 21).

"The 45-year-old complainant was at Jalan Pandan 10/1 with her husband and cousin when she was dragged out of their car and assaulted by a group of suspects.

"The group also attacked her cousin.

"Both of them suffered injuries to the head and face," he said in a statement on Monday (April 24).

He said the attack was believed to have been sparked by an argument between the complainant and one of the suspects.

"Two days after the incident, we arrested a local woman, a foreign woman and a local man aged between 34 and 52.

"We have remanded the local woman to assist further investigations," he said.

The case was being investigated under Sections 323, 506 and 427 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation and committing mischief respectively.
