Landslide: Anti-Corruption Academy off limits, 45 evacuated, says MACC

KUALA LUMPUR: The decision to vacate the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Academy (MACA) following a landslide was made on the advice of the Fire and Rescue Department.

In a statement on Tuesday (April 25), the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) said the building would remain off-limits until the affected area is declared safe.

"Forty-five people were evacuated following the incident which occurred at around 1pm that affected the main entrance to the building.

"We can confirm that 22 officers, 16 cleaners and seven family members of officers were evacuated safely," it said, adding that the MACA was prepared to follow any instructions from the relevant authorities on the matter.

It urged the public to refrain from speculating on the issue and to allow the authorities to investigate the incident to identify the cause of the landslide.
