50 houses, six cars damaged in Alor Gajah thunderstorm


ALOR GAJAH: About 50 houses and six cars were damaged after a thunderstorm hit several areas here, causing trees to fall over.

Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Arshad Abu said affected areas were from Sungai Petai to Rembia; in front of the Japerun office in Rembia; Kelemak industrial area and Kg Lendu Tengah.

However, he said there were no casualties reported during the storm that occurred between 4pm and 4.40pm on Thursday (April 27).

"Some of the vehicles were parked and some were being driven.

"Luckily, nothing untoward happened to the drivers," he added.
