State Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Dr Ariffin Arif - who is also the event’s main organising chairman - said Anwar had earlier accepted the state government's invitation to attend the open house at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).

“The Prime Minister will be joining Head of State Tun Dr Juhar Mahiruddin and his wife Toh Puan Hajah Dr Norlidah RM Jasni, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and State Cabinet members at the celebrations,” he said in a statement here on Thursday (April 27).

Ariffin said members of the public were also invited to the open house beginning at 10am.
