MELAKA: A chairman of a non-governmental organisation has filed a report at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's office (MACC) in Alai here against a Melaka exco member over an alleged sex scandal.
Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia's Melaka chapter chairman Mohd Zamri Abu Bakar said he hoped that MACC would initiate an investigation against the exco member for alleged misconduct, said to involve paid sex services and awarding of projects.
"I have provided evidence in video, pictures and mobile phone screen shots," he said after filing the report on Thursday (April 27).
Mohd Zamri said the woman implicated in the alleged scandal should also be summoned by MACC to assist investigations.
Melaka MACC director Mohd Shahril Che Saad confirmed receiving the report.
Meanwhile, state housing and local government, climate change and disaster management committee chairman Datuk Rais Yasin said deep fake technology had been used to implicate him.
He said the allegation surfaced during the Umno division election in March.
"This is defamation and meant to discredit me," he said.
On Tuesday (April 25), Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh dismissed a social media post, saying allegations of a sex scandal involving an exco member was defamation.
He said the claim could be a move to undermine the state government and said the video could have been doctored.
A WhatsApp message and a video clip has been circulating on social media, purportedly showing the exco member engaging in an "obscene" phone conversation with a woman.
