Fallen tree temporarily blocks MRR2, damages three vehicles

KUALA LUMPUR: Three vehicles were damaged after a tree fell on the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) here near Bandar Tasik Selatan on Saturday (April 29).

The Fire and Rescue Department operations control centre, in a statement, said it received a distress call at 3.19pm.

"We dispatched a fire engine and eight personnel from the Sungai Besi Fire Station to the scene.

"They arrived about 10 minutes later and found that the tree had fallen on three vehicles and was blocking the road," it said.

The control centre added that no one was injured in the incident.

"We removed the tree with the aid of Kuala Lumpur City Hall and the Civil Defence Force," it said.

Meanwhile, flash floods were also reported in Taman United here as well as in Petaling Jaya Old Town.

At Taman United, heavy rain caused a flash flood along Jalan Sepadu with ankle-deep waters observed.

The Old Town Food Court in Petaling Jaya also experienced ankle-deep waters following the afternoon storm.
