MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms in several states Saturday (April 29) night


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms are expected over several states throughout the country on Saturday (April 29) night, says the Malaysian Meteorological Department.

In a statement, MetMalaysia warned that in the peninsula, thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected over the states of Kedah (Langkawi, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu); Penang; Perak; Kelantan (Jeli, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang); Terengganu (Hulu Terengganu); Pahang (Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan, Bera and Rompin); Selangor (Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor and Gombak); Negeri Sembilan (Kuala Pilah, Rembau, Jempol and Tampin); Melaka; Johor (Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru)

In the Borneo States, similar weather is expected in Sarawak in Serian, Samarahan (in Simunjan), Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu and Limbang (in Lawas)

Inclement weather is also expected to hit Sabah in the interior (Sipitang, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort and Nabawan); West coast (Tuaran and Kota Belud); Tawau; Sandakan (Tongod) and Kudat (Kota Marudu) as well as Labuan.
