THE story behind the controversy between singer Datuk Hattan and Astro Awani newscaster Nursyazwani Saiful Sham has been revealed, as the singer claimed to not have known the interview was broadcast live, Berita Harian reported.
The matter was explained by Hattan’s close friend Salimey Abu Bakar through TikTok.
Salimey, who watched the interview, said he sensed that something was not right.
“I contacted Hattan and asked him about the actual situation. My first question was whether he knew that the interview was live.
“He said he did not. He said he was resting when he received the call. If we were in such a situation, we would have answered as if we were talking to friends.”
Salimey said it was impossible for Hattan to not be aware of protocol when being interviewed live for a television or radio show.
“I don’t think it’s fair for him to be solely blamed as he did not even request for an interview.
“Instead, the Astro Awani’s producers should have prepared the questions and answers for such a situation,” he said.
The controversy began when Hattan criticised the newsreader for not doing her homework before asking questions on Mael of XPDC.
Hattan had been contacted for his comments on the lyrics of XPDC’s songs.
Hattan took to criticising her sternly. He questioned if she had done her research prior to the interview.
> Actor-comedian Jiggy, 33, confirmed that he married national diver Nur Dhabitah Sabri, 33, last Friday in a ceremony at her home, Harian Metro reported.
Jiggy, who is also part of the comedic group “Masin”, said the wedding had to be held as his wife will be heading to China for training.
“My wife and I never intended to keep our marriage a secret.
“Alhamdulillah, the ceremony went smoothly, and we have been husband and wife since last Friday.
“We kept the promise to both sides of the family to not announce anything before we were safely married. I apologise to my media friends for not responding to calls previously,” he said.
