A NURSE who sends money to her husband every month for their family expenses was heartbroken when he used the money to marry another woman, reported Kosmo!.

Syariah law practitioner Fahmi Ramli said his client, who works in the Middle East, sends home RM7,000 monthly but her jobless husband remarried in Thailand.

“The husband does odd jobs like cutting grass and collecting scrap rubber.

“The matter was uncovered when their children asked her why there was not enough money to pay for tuition fees,” he said.

Once back home, the woman asked her husband who eventually admitted that he used the money to marry a widow from a nearby village.

In court, Fahmi said the husband did not want to let his client go and claimed that he provided for her.

He also claimed that his wife went overseas to work without his permission.

> The daily also reported that an e-hailing driver recently had a bone-chilling encounter when ferrying a passenger in Samarahan, Sarawak.

“It was a woman who wore a baju kurung and had a nice scent.

“I didn’t suspect anything when she got into the car.

“She asked to wind down the window. Luckily, the rain was not heavy,” said the unidentified man.

He said the woman then asked him to stop his car near a graveyard.

“When I stopped, I turned to the back seat but she was gone. Only God knows how I felt.”

The man said he found two old notes of RM1 and RM2 and some five sen coins on the seat.

> A businessman had to travel over 30km from Bachok to Kampung Raja in Besut, Terengganu, to look for sugar, Harian Metro reported.

However, it was futile for Mohd Zunaidi Mohd Razali to go there as the supply had run out in more than 10 shops that he visited.

“I need sugar for my beverage business. But it has been hard to get, especially after the first week of Hari Raya,” he said.

The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub said the shortage of sugar in the east coast was due to the temporary closure of the MSM Malaysia Holdings Bhd sugar mills in Johor and Penang.

However, he said that the new sugar supply will be distributed accordingly to wholesalers and retailers from this week.
