PETALING JAYA: Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi extends his condolences to the family of the security guard, who was killed in a landslide at Wisma YPR, Taman Seputeh in Kuala Lumpur.

"It is believed that the landslide happened last night when a 6m wall crashed on the guard house, which buried the guard," said Nanta in a Facebook post on Thursday (May 4).

He said the Search and Rescue team, including the Fire and Rescue Department, Special Tactical Operation and Rescue Team of Malaysia and Civil Defence recovered the body at 6.23am on Thursday.

"According to initial information received, it is believed the premises was under a private entity under the purview of the local authority, Kuala Lumpur City Hall.

"It is provided for under the provision of the Act 133 of the Drainage and Building and other related bylaws.

"However, on the part of the Works Ministry, I would like to say that we are ready to extend any assistance whatsoever if requested by affected parties," added Nanta.
