Foreign worker crushed to death by fibre pulling machine

SHAH ALAM: A foreign worker died after he was crushed by a fibre pulling machine.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations command centre chief Zulfikar Jaffar said the incident occurred at around 7am on Saturday (May 6).

"We received the distress call and immediately dispatched a fire engine and one emergency medical rescue services vehicle to the scene with 10 personnel.

"They arrived at the factory at Jalan Bukit Kemuning at 7.17am and found that a Bangladeshi man had been pulled into the rollers of the fibre pulling machine," he said when contacted on Saturday.

He said they took about 10 minutes to free the 21-year-old victim from the machine.

"The victim suffered multiple severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry officials.

"The body was then handed over to the police for further action," he said, adding that the victim was identified as Md Suruj Ali.
