SEREMBAN: The daughter of Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun has married her sweetheart in a culturally traditional and colourful ceremony.

Besides the akad nikah held at the Mentri Besar’s residence here on Saturday, the couple – Nur Amalina, 29, and her newly-wed husband Ting Jian Hang – were seen serving tea to the father of the bride.

In one of the photos put up by Aminuddin, Nur Amalina was clad in a resplendent Chinese bridal attire of qungua – a two-piece traditional wedding gown with a brocade jacket and long skirt – along with a headscarf embellished with a floral pin.

Her husband looked dashing in a matching magua.

For the akad nikah, the 30-year-old groom wore a light coloured baju Melayu with kain samping and songkok while his bride donned an all white modern baju kurung.

In a Facebook post, Aminuddin said the akad nikah ceremony took place on Saturday evening and was attended by family and close friends.

“With joy beyond words, I would like to announce that my daughter, Nur Amalina Aminuddin, has legally become the wife of her heart’s choosing, Ting Jian Hang, this evening.

“When two people from different backgrounds get married, it not only brings them happiness but also brings beautiful and unique cultural diversity.

“I am grateful to God for the opportunity to experience uniqueness through my daughter’s marriage,” he said, posting several photographs of the ceremony, including one which saw him holding up a red parasol over his daughter.

Both Nur Amalina, the second of five siblings, and her husband are engineers in the oil and gas sector but work for different companies.
